iPhone 12 leaks - What to Expect

The iPhone 12 is expected to land very soon. The iPhone 12 Pro Max specifications have purportedly been leaked in detail. These leaks for the iPhone 12 were gotten from the PVT(Production Validation Test) unit of the iPhone 12. PVT is the unit in charge of validating and checking products before mass production begins. iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. While we know the iPhone 12 range is coming soon, we don't know exactly when - usually it would be early September, but there are numerous reports of delays due to the Coronavirus lockdown. But we'd still expect the upcoming phones will be in eager hands before the end of October.

Build and Design

The rear of all four phones is still expected to be made of glass, but the edges are expected to be more squared than the rounded ones on current models. Some sources speaking to Bloomberg claim that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will have flat stainless steel edges just like the design of the iPad Pro, but having more sharply rounded corners, and flat screens. Reports from Jon Prosser (a good leaker of Apple products) said that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will have aluminium frames, while iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will have stainless steel frames. Colours

The shades of the iPhone 11 - Space Gray, Silver and Gold are most likely going to be on the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. It is said that Apple will be debuting a new Navy blue shade for its colours. The dark blue rumour has actually resurfaced more recently, which suggest it might be a real deal. It is said that the midnight Green iPhone 11 Pro sold beyond Apple's expectations, so they may also decide to keep that or it may be replaced in the lineup by this navy shade.

Screen Sizes and Quality

The leaks suggest that the biggest iPhone, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a larger, 6.7-inch OLED display over the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max. It also appears that the iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a higher resolution of 1,284x2,788 pixels that bring 460ppi of pixel density, which is slightly denser than the 458ppi available on the last year model. According to the leaks from the PVT, the screen sizes of the new iPhones will be:

• iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch display
• iPhone 12 Max with a 6.1-inch display
• iPhone 12 Pro with a 6.1-inch display
• iPhone 12 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch display

Although earlier leaks claimed that Apple had given up on the 120hz refresh rate on the new iPhones, recent reliable leaks claim that the 120hz refresh rate will be available on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. In a video by Jon Prosser from the PVT unit, we saw the 120hz settings on the new iPhone.

Camera Improvements

From one of the iPhone 12 Pro models in the PVT unit, it is said that the camera arrangement is going to be ten per cent larger than the one on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will have only two cameras without the LiDAR scanner, and the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will have three cameras with the LiDAR scanner. The LiDAR scanner is an amazing feature for the iPhone 12 Pro models, a feature we've seen in the iPad Pro 2020. 4K video recording at 120FPS (Frames per second), 4K slow motion video recording at 240FPS, enhanced night mode, advanced noise reduction and bit depth video are also part of the 12 pro models.

Price

How much will the iPhone 12 cost?
The iPhone 12 price is something that leaks have made a little clearer than the release date, and from what we're hearing it's likely to stay broadly in line with 2019's iPhone range.

Prices for the next iPhone range probably won't be exactly the same though, as you can see in the chart below, which contains information taken from one big leak from YouTuber Jon Prosser. We've also included information from another leak, which suggests there will be 4G variants of two of the models.
