New features Added to Signal in latest App Update
It is no longer news that Signal has gained traction in the last couple of months. In fact, Signal tweeted that their verification service on the app was facing a delay due to the large number of people trying to get on the app. In the latest update, Signal version 5.3.1 on iOS and version 5.3.1 for Android offers new chat features on the app to make it more suitable and enhance user experience.
The features added are features already present on other mainstream messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram. These include features like animated stickers, chat wallpapers, and an “About” section in your profile.![]() |

The iOS version, however, has a data managing feature which lowers data usage while using the app. This means that iPhone users will see a new setting to lower data usage during calls, an option to automatically pause attachment downloads during calls, and improved image compression among other enhancements.
We hope Signal continues to develop and bring more exciting features.
