Facebook's new group video chat feature Messenger Rooms is now available. This is a new feature that enables you to video call in real-time. This feature is similar to other services like Zoom, Skype, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. As more people turn to video chat during coronavirus lockdowns and quarantines, Facebook has felt the demand for real-time video. Facebook/Messenger Rooms arrived as many complains have been made about the commonly used Zoom, which has faced a number of security and privacy issues in the past two months.
Facebook/Messenger rooms

Messenger Rooms make it easy to spend quality time with friends, loved ones and people who share your interests. With this feature, you can create a video chat room via Facebook or the Messenger app with up to 50 participants with no time limits. This feature can be useful for various meetings, whether corporate meetings, celebrations or just hang out with friends. You don’t need to call someone and hope it’s a good time or check everyone’s calendar first. You can start and share rooms on Facebook through News Feed, Groups and Events, so it’s easy for people to drop by. Soon we’ll add ways to create rooms from Instagram Direct, WhatsApp and Portal, too.

How to use Facebook/Messenger Rooms

To Create a Facebook Room you must have the latest version of Facebook and messenger. If you don't have you can download on Google play store or the IOS App store. Once you’ve installed the apps, you need to follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Launch the Messenger app on your device.
Step 2: Click on the ‘People tab’ which is at the bottom-right of the screen.
Step 3: Select ‘Create a Room’, and select the users that you wish to add.
You can directly add people who have Facebook accounts, however, people without Facebook accounts can also participate by you sharing the link with them.
